Governor launches ‘No Horn Please’ campaign
GUWAHATI, Jan 1: Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi launched a campaign ‘No Horn Please’ at a function organised at the Raj Bhawan today.
- The campaign conceptualised by Byatikram, a social development organisation, has been launched for 90 days and it will be replicated throughout the city.
- Governor launches ‘No Horn Please’ campaign Speaking on the occasion, the Governor hailed the campaign and said that the concept of the campaign is significant and it has the potential of checking the city’s growing noise pollution.
- “As there is no effective law for controlling noise pollution, the campaign would go a long way in tackling the menace.Large-scale awareness among the public would act as a deterrent to noise pollution,” he said, adding that the 90-day campaign has the potential of generating mass awareness against noise pollution.
