Foundation laid for new LGBI airport terminal 
Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for the new integrated terminal building of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport adjacent to SOS Road in Guwahati on January 28





Global bird fest at Dudhwa from Feb 9
LAKHIMPUR KHERI (UP)-A three-day international bird festival will be held at the Dudhwa National Park here from February 9 with nearly 200 leading ornithologists to attend.
“The purpose behind the international bird festival is to promote eco-tourism in Dudhwa and to give it a distinct international identity, besides highlighting its traditional Tharu arts, culture and heritage,”





Loknath Kutum was announced for the Mohan Bhaira Award 2018. 
The name of renowned folk artiste of Majuli, Loknath Kutum was announced for the Mohan Bhaira Award 2018.

The award will be presented to the artiste at a function to be held at the Nalbari Natya Mandir on February 1 so as to coincide with the death anniversary of renowned folk artiste and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Mohan Bhaira. 

It may be mentioned here that till date nine folk artistes, namely 
Purnya Prava Dutta Tamuly (2009),
Sitaram Ray (2010), 
Muktaram Baruah Ojah (2011), 
Manik Saikia Ojah (2012),
Ruhin Rabha (2013),
Dwijen Gogoi (2014),
Prabhat Sarma (2015),
Hari Barbayan (2016) and
Ramcharan Bharali (2017).
